Low-barrier, on-demand treatment

For years, folks would come to the exchange and ask for help accessing treatment because there were waiting lists and a nearly impossible amount of red tape to access care. PHRA is proud offer our participants easily accessible, low-barrier Suboxone (Buprenorphine) treatment! Since the program is low barrier, there is no punishment for a positive UA, you will not be “kicked off the program” like a lot of treatment programs do.

Please visit our University District location during open hours or call/text Fern at 206-850-5654 Monday- Thursday.

A word from Fern Feldman, ARNP, our Low Barrier Suboxone prescriber:

“I have been the anchor prescriber for the low barrier buprenorphine program co-located with PHRA for almost three years now. It is amazing to see the positive changes that people make, especially clients who would have been turned away by more standard programs for the slow or nonlinear nature of their progress. Anyone who supports this program can go to bed at night knowing there are people who are alive and thriving today because of the work we do. And being co-located with PHRA is such a blessing. Our programs have a beautiful synergy. PHRA provides many of our referrals, helps people feel safe approaching care that might otherwise feel intimidating, and helps people reach us when they don’t have a phone, or can’t remember when we are available.”

Hepatitis C testing & treatment

We provide free & confidential Hepatitis C screening during regular hours at our University District, Aurora, & mobile site locations. We provide in-house Hepatitis C treatment for those enrolled in our Suboxone program. If you are not enrolled in that program, our staff can explain your treatment options & how to access them elsewhere.
